ROOTS BEFORE RESULTS | Ricky Venter

Last week, Thom reminded us of a powerful truth: there is a difference between God being present and us being present to God. This week, Ricky Venter builds on that foundation with a message about structure, formation, and what it really means to remain in Christ.

In “Roots Before Results,” we explore Jesus’ words in Gospel of John 15:5 — “Apart from Me you can do nothing.” This isn’t poetic language. It’s structural. If Jesus is the vine, then our lives must be ordered around His presence.

Awareness alone doesn’t change a life. Structure does.

This sermon unpacks:

  • Why abiding is structural, not occasional
  • How we grow what we feed (Second Epistle to the Corinthians 10:5)
  • Why roots are built in secret (Gospel of Matthew 6)

Drawing from Book of Psalms 1 and Book of Jeremiah 17, this message reminds us that fruit is visible, but structure is hidden — and structure determines survival.

If you’ve been longing for deeper stability, greater spiritual endurance, and a life that produces lasting fruit, this message is for you.

You don’t build roots in crisis.
You reveal them.

Remain first.
Be planted first.
Roots before results.
