INTENTIONAL — WEEK 2 | CONSIDER YOUR WAYS
Nobody plans to become spiritually complacent.
We don’t usually wake up one morning and decide to drift from God. It happens slowly — one compromise, one excuse, one disappointment, one delayed act of obedience. Eventually, what was once an exception becomes a pattern, and the pattern becomes a way of life.
In Haggai 1, God speaks to His people with a simple but confronting invitation:
“Consider your ways.”
Complacency rarely says “no.”
It often says “not yet.”
We can be busy building our careers, homes, relationships and reputations while continually postponing what God is asking us to build. We can ask God to change our outcomes while refusing to change our habits.
But when God reveals where we have drifted, He doesn't leave us in condemnation. He invites us to respond.
Go. Bring. Build.
So the question is not simply, “Where am I struggling?” but:
What have I been believing that has made my current behaviour reasonable to me?
And then:
What is my next act of obedience?
You don't need to make twenty promises to God.
Take one faithful step.
